My Life in Music - Bernard Leach
For our first meeting of the 2019/20 season we were joined by Bernard Leach who shared with us some reminiscences of music that has had particular significance for him during his life. An organist in Dursley for 40 years Bernard first worked at the Bristol Aeroplane Company before moving to Berkeley Nuclear Laboratories. Throughout his adult life he has kept up a second career as an organist, indulging his love of music and sharing it with others. He played us a range of pieces, from Nigel Kennedy to Wurlitzer organs with one of his own performances thrown in for good measure. With a range of anecdotes laced with humour Bernard gave an excellent launch to the new season.
