THE CHANGING FACE OF THE ORCHESTRA
We are honored to have retired clarinettist Michael Huntriss to talk to us about how orchestras have developed.
Michael studied at the Royal Academy of Music and his first job was playing principal clarinet for the opera house in Tehran.
Before retiring he played with the BBC Northern Ireland Orchestra, the Scottish National Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and has worked freelance with most of the major UK Orchestras.
He also freelanced in London/Liverpool Philharmonic and taught at the Perse School in Cambridge and Bloxham School and was a teacher at Royal Scottish Academy of Music during his period in Glasgow.
He has been a repairer of Woodwind instruments for around 25 years.
