Signature Tunes

Our 2017/18 season opened with the return of our long-time friend Malcolm Lewis with "Signature Tunes". Starting with 'Listen with Mother' Malcolm presented some of the most memorable signature tunes from radio and television, including 'By A Sleepy Lagoon' (Desert Island Discs), 'Devil's Gallop' (Dick Barton, Special Agent) and 'Barwick Green' (The Archers) up to Panorama (an excerpt from Rachmaninov's First Symphony), Blue Peter ('Barnacle Bill') and Monty Python's Flying Circus (Sousa's 'Liberty Bell'). This selection brought back memories for everyone and was an entertaining and light-hearted start to a new season.
