Thanks for the memory

Club members Jill and Robert Hutchings have had a long association with the Stroud and South Gloucestershire areas, and they share a love of listening to and encouraging music. In turn, they each shared with us a series of highlights of their own journey through a musical life. Thus we heard a wide range of music and singing which struck chords with many of those in the audience whose own memories were stirred by these pieces.

Thanks to Jill and Robert’s long association with ‘Music at The Priory’ we heard not only music by familiar composers and performers, but also songs by choirs from all round the world when they came to sing in Leonard Stanley Church. The evening was entitled ‘Thanks for the Memory’, but this was exactly our own response at the end of a wonderful selection of music.
